when I lived in Catonsville, 30 years ago, I was so happy to be near this place that Cheryl had lived - if you hear the lyric, "and the fields are all 4 lanes..", the whole song is about where she grew up, and MOSTLY about her family's place and her father. I was in the seats when she sang this song one night, in the local coffee house (which was a large church hall), and she introduced it as written for her father for his birthday (thus "76 Septembers"). The song is a killer ballad, but that night her father stood up, in the middle of the room, and blew her a kiss... She must have cried; we all did. 🧡

Hmmm...just coming back to this again after 8 months. Ed used to say in his concerts that for some reason he used to play in a frantic manner, and given his records and live playing that I've seen over the last few decades, I'd say he had a point. But this was a long time ago, and he's gone the other way. I would love it if he resurrected his old stuff and played it a little slower...

There waa female singer who came up on the stage to do a duet of a Neil Young song. She was introduced as Casey I believe. I couldn't catch what her last name was. She is a very good singer and if you know her last name, please post a message. Does she sing in clubs these days? She is wearing a pink sweater and blue jeans.

I love him or his voice and freezing and his poetry was great! He really was a great folk singer; emphasize 'folk'. It looks like he takes an old folk song and puts his own words to it. I keep meaning to buy his book and then I get distracted. I first found him around 1984 . I learned three or four of his songs on my own guitar and that was all she wrote. I found out later that he was a good friend of one of my heroes Greg Brown, I heard Ain't Life a Brook and I thought he wrote it.. it sounds like this he might be doing this in a drop d, Van Morrison's tupelo Honey. Greg uses drop d a lot as well. Dylan did too.. People do not know that. I love him.

♡ - Oh boy. I'm having a great time. I just played in NYC at The Bottom Line and both shows were 'SOLD...' - and played down in DC (Blues Alley), NC, and NJ(Club Bene), and getting ready to go over to Northhampton and play, and then a short hop over to Idaho and then back home (Mendocino) to make my new record.... - I feel like I'm ready to call myself a harp guitarist... ☺ - Aerial Boundaries dedications...Rickover, Bensusan, Galileo (guitar - use it for new advances...) - Will Ackerman, who is the founder of Windham Hill Records, decided that these songs should come out - Open Air Records - He heard me in a club and we signed a record deal (1980)... - We went out and did a test recording + he had me play a guest set at Great American Music Hall (SF)..... - ...to see if I could play in front of people. 🙂 - I was studying computer music at Stanford ~ by playing in bars at night... - The Story of Naomi Uemura: I did write part of the music (harp guitar) while watching the film to get it into the spirit - SantaBear's First Christmas: I had a week to assembly the music to her voice. ~ I liked it ~ so i'll probably do it again. - What's in the works? Probably a couple of ensemble pieces w Michael Manring on bass + maybe Mindy Rosenfeld on flute. 🤗 - ... Rock album, producer...
